LAGERBOX donates honey to Evangelische Jugendhilfe Remscheid

Honey for hearts and hands 

LAGERBOX combines storage space with social causes—especially when they involve supporting children and young adults. In Remscheid, we were able to donate several jars of honey from our in-house beekeeping project to Evangelische Jugendhilfe Bergisch Land as part of our annual honey initiative. The event took place past week and was a great success—both for the organisation and for our on-site staff.

A jar of honey as a token of appreciation

Our honey initiative has become something of a tradition at LAGERBOX. At several of our locations, we maintain our own beehives in collaboration with local beekeepers. The result is carefully handcrafted, regional honey that is sustainable, natural and produced with a lot of patience. Each year, this honey is filled into jars and distributed to people we care about. In addition to staff members and long-standing partners, we make a point of donating these jars to select social care facilities.

Evangelische Jugendhilfe: protection, support, opportunities

This year, we chose to support the Evangelische Jugendhilfe Bergisch Land, which is a protestant charitable organisation dedicated to helping young people. The organisation offers children and young adults in challenging life situations protection, support, and a stable social environment. This is does not only mean providing a safe place to stay but a holistic support system, including educational assistance, leisure activities and individual personal development.

A small contribution with a big impact

The honey jars were handed over in person by our team in Remscheid. Each jar was lovingly prepared and warmly received by the organisation. Some of the kids also received a little present and got excited about it. For us, it’s a gesture of appreciation—for a type of work that often goes unseen yet has immense value for our society.

And so, our honey initiative does not just stand for sustainability but also for connection between businesses and the community, between people and regions. The honey itself is more than just a product—it’s a symbol of what we want to share: attention, support, and a touch of normality for those who need it the most.
